"I started my placement with the Reach in 2014 as a student from the MA in Counselling Children and Young People, University of Nottingham. I continued in a paid capacity until my retirement in 2020. It was a very happy time in my volunteering/working life. Whilst, ultimately, the aim of the Reach is to provide specialist psychological support for young children, their families/carers and teachers during difficult times in their lives, it is also a brilliant service to both learn and develop the heightened skills needed to intuit their needs and become a thoughtful, effective and confident psychotherapist. The supervision and support for the individual learner, and qualified counsellor, is second to none and thoughtful attention is always given to the supervisory process."
